Journey to work
Apr. 21st, 2026 12:28 amAs we go into the tail end of the month of April I am still not working. I accepted a job offer near the beginning of the month but because they use a third party for their background checks it's not done yet. And since it's not done I can't start working. Which pretty much means financially we are screwed as the only income we have is my daughter's survivors benefits from her father's social security. And that is less than $1,200 a month. The only good thing that has happened other than being offered a job, is that I was proved for SNAP benefits so at least I don't have to worry about food. Just have to worry about rent, car payment, phone bill, internet, electricity, water, cell phone, and gas.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel, just need that background check to clear. And then I can start a very good paying job that has a brutal commute. I'll be working in Louisville in the brownsboro road area. Night shift at a rehabilitation hospital.
I've also started watercolor painting ( which I am not very good at right now), and I need to get back into my other crafts like crocheting and spinning and knitting. I even started writing a fanfiction a crossover between SG1 and The Sentinel. I'm introducing my own character and it is decidedly AU. We'll see if I can actually finish it and have it make sense. All I know is right now it is going to be long very, very long.
